Handmade in Nepal the Pachamama Iona cardigan is perfect for keeping you warm in cold weather, featuring a combination of traditional fair isle patterns and bold modern colours it has been hand knitted using a thick 2 PLY wool that has benefits of insulation while being a great source of warmth.

Made by a Fair Trade approved supplier, where workers are paid above the nation average and treated equally and with respect, regardless of gender, race or religion. Employment is also freely chosen with no forced, bonded or child labour. They have also developed the use of natural materials and dyes to ensure impact on both local and wider environment is kept to a minimum. Pachamama is a member of the Fair Trade BAFTAS.

Pachamama supports the international charity Net4Kids working in Nepal to give underprivileged children a better future through sustainable help. They also donate to Right4Children, whose mission is to provide children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with better life prospects through sponsorship and self-help.

Pachamama began trading fairly in 1990 and specialise in producing beautiful  handmade Knitwear garments. Pachamama is totally against mass production and believe they can offer something different, helping customers express their individuality. They are constantly working on new designs as products are made on a small scale they are very rare. They produce a wide range of knitwear from very simple classic designs to complex patterns from expert knitters. All products are made with patience, love and care with practicality and warmth in mind. The business ethos is to respect suppliers and the environment. All people involved in the production process work in excellent conditions and receive pay above the local standards as well as receiving benefits. All products are handmade and fair trade providing much needed employment.
